Trek and yak safari in Spiti

Day 1: Manali to Kaza (3810m), by transportation 9hrs

Cross the Rohtang Pass and later the Kunzum Pass, the gateway to the Spiti Valley. There you will enter the first village of Spiti, Lossar, then we go further to Kaza.

Day 2: Kaza to Kibber (4200m) via Kye Monastery 5hrs

Kye monastery is the oldest & very famous monastery in the region. Over night camp at the beautiful grassy campsite in the Kibber village.

Day 3: Kibber to Langza (4635m) 5hrs

Langja village is one of the highest village situated at an altitude of 4435m and below the beautiful Chau Chau Kang Nilda peak (6303m). Explore the village and acclimatize hike in around. Stay overnight in Langza.

Day 4: Langza to Hikkim (4500m) 4hrs

The distance between Langza to Hikkim is only about 8 kilometers. Climb up and down the mountains, ran on the green patches and keep trekking in the lap of the Himalayas. You will meet grazing yaks and sheep are during the trekking. Over night camp at the shore of the misty village Hikkim.

Day 5: Hikkim to Dhimul (4357m) 4hrs

After Breakfast start your journey to Dhimul village. Demul village has 53 houses spread out over a hill. During your trek, take a break in Komic. Demul is 8 hours away from Komic and Komic is about 5 hours from Langza.
This village guides are a good source of information for not only about the places but about the unique history of the surrounding villages like Kibber and all. Today stay will be in Dhimul.

Day 6: Dhimul to Lalung (3758m) 5hrs

After breakfast, we start trekking to Lalung. The word Lalung means ‘land of God’ and the village of Lalung is located at the foot of the Tangmar Mountains which supposedly transforms in colour depending on the mood of the deities. Red denotes anger while yellow signifies happiness. Apart from being home to hospitable local families, the village of Lalung is also home to one of the oldest gompas in Spiti Valley. The Lalung Monastery – also known as Sarkhang and Golden Temple – is situated at a height of 3658 metres.

Day 7: Lalung to Dhankar Lake (3890m) 5hrs

Dhankar is the ancient capital of Spiti Valley and the seat of the Spitian Kings. It is home to the splendid 16th century Monastery. Situated mid-way between Kaza and Tabo, the route to Dhankar is along a slight detour situated on a steep mountain ridge jutting over the valley. Visit to the fort and monastery at Dhankar requires more than a few hours. A short trek away from Dhankar, is the beautiful turquoise Dhankar Lake which is a must-visit if you have the time and energy. After exploring Dhankar, we end our trek and drive to Kaza.

Day 8: Dhankar to Tabo (3050m) 4hrs

Today we will trek towards the 1006 year’s oldest monastery of the region Tabo Monastery. Stay overnight in Tabo.

Day 9: Tabo to Rangrik by transportation

Visit the some old monasteries of the region overnight camp at Rangrik a beautiful camping ground on the shore of spiti river. Rangrik is a small village located about 6 km from Kaza across the Spiti River connected by a small bridge. it is quite a big village with a population of about 900 people.

Day 10: Rangrik to Manali

Today is the last day of trip in Spiti Valley. Start your journey back to Manali. We will leave in the morning after breakfast for Manali. Crossing various streams/nalas towards Rohtang Pass.
Reach Manali by evening.
