Description
This trip takes you to the Parvati Valley in Kullu to the Pin Valley in Spiti across the 5319 meter high Pin Parvati Pass. It helps you to explore the temperate forests of the former to the barren, cold desert landscapes later. While trekking through this high altitude cold dessert, you will have a blend of Spiti’s rich culture and natural splendors. Get a glimpse of some of the world’s rarest species of wildlife, such as snow leopard, Tibetan wolf and blue sheep. One need to be extremely fit and very well prepared for this trek as there is absolutely no habitation along its entire length.

Day 1: Manali to Barsheni (2400 m) 4 hours drive 100 km/ Trek to Khir Ganga (2960 m) (4 hours)
From Manali start drive to Manikaran. Then drive another 7 km. to Barsheni.Trek to Kalga village a small clearing in the thick pine forest, through the misty and heavily wooded unexplored forests of the Kullu valley. Then trek through the forest to Khir ganga.

Day 2: Khir Ganga to Tundabhuj (3285m) (5-6 hours)
Today after breakfast start trekking through thebeautiful forest. Tunda Bhuz is the upper limit for the pine forest and there is an abundance of Bhuz(Birch)trees. Camp at lush green campsite.

Day 3: Tundabhuj to Thakurkuan (3560m) (5- 6 hours)
Today is one of the challenging day of the trek , as the trek is steep and difficult in some section close to Thakurkuan.This area lies within the Kanawar wild life sanctuary so it’s also possible that you might meet amazing wildlife like Snow leopards.

Day 4: Thakurkuan to Pandu Pul. (3700mts.) 5hrs.
Today is also a little hard yet spectacular trekking day. There is some unique rock bridges. Due to these bridges its name is Pandu Pul( bridge) a grassy camp site.

Day 5: Pandu Pul to Mantalaie Lake.(4074mts.) 5hrs.
Trek to Mantalaie lake through the flower speckled grasslands. There is abundance of quartz and semi precious gems around here. Picking up rock souvenirs from here is not allowed overnight camp.

Day 6: Mantalaie to Base camp of Pin Parvati Pass. (4500mts.) 6hrs.
Trek through the glacier and loose scree slopes, yes trekking is challenging but beautiful sights & grassy campsite make it worthy.

Day 7: Base camp to Cross the Pin Parvati Pass(5319mts) to the another side of the base camp(4500mts.) 6 hrs.
This pass is difficult to trek and snow fields make it more difficult . After the pass descends over asteep scree slops to reach first camp in Pin valley.

Day 8: Base camp to Ghurgul (4000mts.) 4hrs.
A short walk after crossing the challenging Pin Parvati pass is a very spectacular walk changing the landscape with high snow clad mountain peaks. Overnight camp at grassy camp site.

Day 9: Ghurgul to Mud (3600mts.) 4hrs.
Today we will get to the first village in Spiti.A village which is one of its kind and is set a below a cliff and inhabitant by simple folk of Tibetan stock.This is the last night of the trek.

Day 10: Drive to Tabo (3550 m) via Dhankar Monastery (3890m) 68 km
After breakfast start your drive to Tabo. You will be visiting Dhankar monastery beautifully perched on a hill top overlooking Spiti river. We will later drive to Kaza, the district headquarter of Spiti valley. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Kaza- Losar
Spend half of your day exploring the local bazaar of Kaza, visit Kaza monastery and later drive towards Losar, the last village of Spiti Valley towards Lahaul. Overnight at hotel/cottage

Day 12: Losar – Chandertaal Lake
Situated at an altitude of 4300 m, this lake due to its crescent shape has got the name of Chandra meaning moon and taal for lake ( the moon lake). We have to cross Kunzom Pass to reach this lake, the Pass that connects Spiti Valley with Lahaul valley. The lake is very famous amongst the trekkers and also a must visit place for the nature lovers. One can also do trek from here to Suraj Taal or Baralachala Pass. Overnight at camp.

Day 13: Drive to Manali 139 km
Early morning by walk (1 hrs one way) to visit Chandertal (The moon lake – 4270 m) which is of exquisite beauty between a lower ridge and the main Kunzum range, the outlet being into Chandra river. Drive back to Manali over Rohtang pass.

Day 14: Rest day in Manali and drive to Delhi by car 585 km
After a long trip take rest in Hotel. Spend day at your leisure. Explore old Manali. In evening drive from Manali to Delhi.
