If you want to explore the most untouched trails in the Indian Himalayas, the Kang La Trek is for you. This lengthy trek takes you from Manali to Srinagar and gives you unimaginable views of scenery, landscapes, cultures, and languages. This trek is meant for only experienced trekkers with good physical fitness. Famous for its wildflowers and pristine alpine pastures Kang La Pass with an altitude of 5465M takes you to the Zanskar valley in Ladakh, a stark alpine world of rock and ice. This challenging crossover trek between Himachal and Ladakh takes trekkers through pristine meadows, multiple emerald-green glacial lakes, stunning snowfields, rocky moraines, massive glaciers. The trail passes through several unnamed peaks and helps you to access the extremely remote village of Padum in Zanskar
Tour Plan
1
Day 1: The participants arrive in Manali.
By Morning arrive at Manali and then transfer to the hotel for relaxing & acclimatization. At leisure visit the old Manali, the famous Hadimba Devi Temple, and the Mall road. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 2: Manali – Udaipur by road, Duration: 10 hours
Travel by jeep from Manali to Udaipur enroute visiting the Rohtang Pass (3980 m). Visit Trilokinath and Mrikula Devi temple.

Day 3: Udaipur – Urgos (3250m) by road, Duration: 2 hours
Urgos is a charming village in the heartland of Lahaul and is quite prosperous. The easy trail passes through typical Lahauli countryside.

Day 4: Urgos – Tharang (3700m), Duration: 5 hours
The trail to Tharang is quite easy by Himalayan standards and is dotted with flowers early in the season.

Day 5: Tharang – Gumbah Nala (3900m), Duration: 6 hours
Trek through lush green meadows at the next camp of Gumbah Nala. These upper reaches of the Miyar Nala are renowned for the many flowers that dot the meadows in spring.

Day 6: Gumbah Nala – Base Camp of Miyar Glacier (4200m), Duration: 6 hours
It’s an easy trek through lush meadows and pretty scenery to the Base Camp from where the trail becomes harder.

Day 7: Trek up the Miyar Glacier to the base of Kang La. The glacier is crevassed in places but there is no danger to wary and well-equipped trekking parties.

Day 8: Base Camp of Kang La – Kang La (5450m) – Camp after the Pass, Duration: 8 hours
The trail to the pass is challenging and precautions need to be taken to ensure the safety of the team. Set camp at the first good camping site after the descend from the top of the pass.

Day 9: Camp after the Pass – Burdun, Duration: 5 hours
Trek into the Heart of Zanskar and camp close to the ancient and well-preserved Burdun Gompa.

Day 10: Burdun – Padam, Duration: 3 hours
Trek along an almost motorable road to the road head at Padam

Day 11: Padum – Kargil
Padum is the headquarters of Zanskar valley and located at a distance of approximately 230 km from Kargil.The road for the most part of the journey will be in a bad state, So this 230 km long journey of Kargil to Padum can take anywhere between 8 to 10 hours, depending on your speed and breaks.

Day 12: Kargil to Leh
The Kargil to Leh highway goes alongside the beautiful Indus River rewards you with breathtaking sights of the untouched landscapes and historical constructions in some places.
