Description
Hampta Pass trek is the shortest line between the Chandra and Beas Rivers. It was the popular trade route from China via Spiti to the Kullu Valley and other parts of the country. On one side is the lush green valley of Kullu filled with forests, grasslands, and flowers blooming on the side of your trail. On the other side is landscape of Lahaul, with barren mountains and almost no vegetation.

Day 1: Arrival in Manali (MORNING) – Drive to Jobra- trek to Chika
Today after arrival at Manali, Meet our representatives. After this drive to Jobra from where the Hampta pass trekking originates. At this transfer point, start for an easy ascent to Chika. It’s an easy trek to the Chika campsite on the banks of Rani Nallah, a trek that walks you into a mixed forest of pine, green maple and birch trees. With the mesmerizing topography of the Himachal coming into play, you barely realize the climb. While trekking, walk along with River Rani who introduces the surroundings of big rocky hills in absolute splendour. Enjoy an overnight stay and dinner at the tents in Chika.

Day 2: Chikka to Balu-Ka-Gera (3770m) 5 hours trek
On this day, the trek will begin from Chitka which will take you through grasslands and rocky paths to the next site. On the way you will witness grasslands which are covered with beautiful wildflowers post monsoon season. The trail further leads to a small stream of about 10 ft, with ice cold water. This stream needs to be crossed carefully as the rocks are slippery. So remove your shoes for a better grip and also getting yourself wet may ruin your further days. Moving along you’ll get to a flat area, covered with sand depositions. Now you are not too far away from your destination. Another half an hour walk will lead to your campsite. From here you can view the beautiful Bandarpunch peak of the Dhauladhar Range.

Day 3: Balu Ghera to Shia Gauru (Over Hamta Pass) (4268m) 6 hours trek
Today after breakfast leave from Balu ka Ghera campsite. The ascent from here is most incline you face during whole trek. Keep drinking enough water. With the specified precautions, we walk safely to our next campsite, Shea Ghoru which is the coldest place in your trek.

Day 4: Shia Gauru to Chattru (3560m) 4 hours trek downhill
After an early trek starts today a sightseeing road trip to The Chandrataal lake.The trail will be upto Chhatru today which is the last campsite. There is a stream flowing by your campsite which needs to be crossed. You must cross the river in the early hours of the day as the water level will be low at this time of the day. The ice-chilled water will almost freeze you but the experience will be mind blowing. There will be a night halt at Chhatru campsite.
